Houses

In order for the students to imbibe values of team work and a coordinated effort, Tagore students are selected to enter into 6 Houses – Gandhi, Gautam, Guru Nanak, Kabir, Tagore and Vivekanand. Each house is marked with a flag and a uniform in specific colour giving students a sense of unity.M

Throughout the year students from each House work together to showcase their skills and talents in various Intra-School events and compete for the coveted annual sports shield. Under the careful supervision of a teacher appointed as the House Master, each house is led by a House Captain (Boy and Girl) and House Vice-Captain (Boy and Girl). This gives students an opportunity to discover their leadership skills while they learn to take responsibility for not just their own performance but also of their teams/houses.

School Editorial Board and School Magazine

In our attempt to tap into the innovative ideas and creative outlook of young minds, Tagore School applauds the efforts of our Editorial Board which designs and creates content for our School publication called CONFLUENCE.

CONFLUENCE means a mingling of children from all walks of life. The publication encourages students to channel their diversity and creativity in the form ofstories, poems, essays and articles.

Co-Curricular Activities

Tagore students are encouraged to recognize and bring forth their inherent talents through a wide range of Co-curricular activities which are an indispensable part of School life. Our students are trained to actively participate in Intra-School competitions.

We cheer students who have consistently won awards for the School and encourage newer participants to follow in their footsteps.

Some of the Co-curricular activities offered are:

Games and Sports

The spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition is inculcated in our students through a variety of games such as volleyball, basketball, cricket, football, kho kho, table tennis and athletics. This enables them to develop, in the words of Rudyard Kipling,
“A sound mind in a sound body”.
Our sportspersons have not only participated in the district, state and national level competitions but have also brought laurels to the Schoolin yoga, table tennis, volleyball, football and athletics.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

N.S.S. volunteers from Tagore School collect and send aid for victims of natural calamities and rail accidents. They organize rallies to raise awareness in society against social evils and learn to live up to the N.S.S. motto of
‘Not Me But You’.
Every year National Integration Camps, Mega Camps, Republic Day Camps and National Adventure Camps are held in which our volunteers not only participate with great zeal but also win laurels.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Tagore Baal Niketan is the only School in Karnal which was sanctioned an NCC (Air Wing) Troop in 1998. With this distinction, our NCC cadets get the necessary orientation, training and discipline required to join the defence forces. Our young defenders- in- training work to fulfil the NCC precept of ‘Unity and Discipline’.
